Golden Prairie’s history

Golden Prairie is a village in southwestern Saskatchewan, within the Rural Municipality of Big Stick No. 141. It became an incorporated village on 15 April 1942.

Today the village is still tied to the surrounding farm country. It has a grain elevator with a producer car loading facility, a curling rink and a restaurant. Golden Prairie is also the seat of the Rural Municipality of Big Stick No. 141, and the municipal office is located here.
